Abay Alperen Kaplan

Born in Kyzylorda, Kazakhstan in 1995. He started his martial arts trainings with his father, Murat Kaplan, at his early ages. Along with his father, he trained Wing Chun under two well known Wing Chun masters, first Sifu Yen Chien (one of Lo Man Kam's students of GGM Ip Man), and then GM Samuel Kwok (student of two sons of GGM Ip Man), with whom he still keeps contact and trains.

In addition to his Wing Chun trainings, he pays a special interest and gives more heed to Qigong and Taiji trainings in order to establish a sound internal power which he believes necessary for any martial artist.

According to the Chinese tradition, GM Samuel Kwok gave Abay a Chinese Kung Fu name: 郭忠信, meaning "loyal and faith [trust]". Abay Alperen Kaplan is the youngest instructor in SKMAA.

Being one of very few young Wing Chun instructors who has completed the whole curriculum of the art, Abay Alperen Kaplan is currently teaching Wing-Chun at the Chinese Culture and Healthy Life Association, in Antalya Turkey.

Having attended several training camps and seminars of SKMAA, Kaplan strongly believes that Kung Fu is not a sport but an art whose training demans a life time dedication.

Abay Alperen Kaplan who is fluent in English; and can communicate in Chinese, Spanish and Polish languages in basic levels. He currently studies at Akdeniz Üniversity, English Language and Literature Department.
